Challenger 1 Mk 3
British main battle tank (MBT) in service from 1983 to 2001. Armed with a 120mm L11A5 rifled gun (retro-fitted with L30A1), 7.62mm L8A2 & 7.62mm L37A2 machine guns mounted on the turret roof. Equipment included virtually impregnable Chobham composite armour for protection against threats including kinetic energy penetrators and high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) rounds. Other defensive measures included laser warning system and smoke grenade launchers. Challenger 1 performed very reliably in the Gulf War in 1991 and without loss. Mk 3 has passive armour plates and extra stowage bins for 120mm rounds.

Long-range heavy bomber capable of delivering a nuclear payload, developed by Boeing for the United States Air Force entering military service from 1955. The seventy year old design is expected to remain operational until the 2050s. The B-52D variant was used extensively in the Vietnam war. This release from Academy is from the Minicraft tooling. Polish Land Forces K2GF MBT 2023
The K2GF is a variant of the South Korean K2 Black Panther tank ordered by the Polish Land Forces. The K2GF is equipped with a number of features that are specific to the Polish military including new fire control system, Polish-made communication system, and new armour package. The K2GF is also being fitted with Israeli-made countermeasures including the Trophy active protection system. It is armed with a 120mm smoothbore gun.
The first batch of K2GF tanks was delivered to Poland in December 2022. Further deliveries are scheduled for 2023-2026. Type K2GF is expected to form the backbone of the Polish tank force for the foreseeable future.

McDonnell F-15C ANG "75th Anniversary Medal of Honor" 2019
Special 75th anniversary markings in remembrance of 2nd Lt David R. Kingsley of the United States Army Air Forces, killed in action on 23rd June 1944 when his B-17 Flying Fortress "Sandman" was brought down during a bombing mission over the oil refineries of Ploesti, Romania. 2nd Lt Kingsley was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his gallantry. Kingsley Field in Oregon where the F-15C is based is named after him.

Vought F4U-4 Corsair "Battle of Jangjin Reservoir"
American piston-engined carrier-based fighter-bomber with characteristic bent wing design. Built in large numbers for the US Navy and Marines, seeing service in WWII and, the subject of this Academy kit, the Korean War.
Markings provided in the kit recall two US Navy Corsairs which crash-landed behind enemy lines.
The Jangjin Reservoir is in a mountainous region in North Korea where many Americans were lost in battle. "White 211", flown by Ensign Jesse L Brown, the Navy's first black pilot (and the first killed in the war), came down after being hit by hostile fire. Lt (junior grade) Thomas Hudner Jr crash-landed his Corsair "White 205" nearby to rescue Ens Brown but he died at the scene. Hudner made it out and was awarded the Medal of Honor in April 1951. Sixty years after the end of the Korean War, aged 88, Hudner returned to North Korea in July 2013 in a second attempt to recover Ens Brown's remains. Sadly the mission had to be abandoned due to harsh weather conditions. Hudner died in 2017 aged 93. Jesse Brown posthumously received the Distinguished Flying Cross. Their story is portrayed in the 2022 biopic Devotion.

Low-flying subsonic ground-attack twin-fanjet aircraft, maiden flight in May 1972. Nicknamed "Warthog" by USAF aircrew, more than 700 A-10s were built from 1973 to 1982 and the type is still in service with the US Air Force. A-10C is the current platform standard with further potential for life-extension; plans to retire the A-10 and replace with the F-35 are on hold.
