Junkers Ju-87D-5 'Axis Satellites' Hungary, Rumania, Bulgaria, Slovak state Academy's top quality styrene injected parts of their Junkers Ju-87G-2 kit has been joined now by Special Hobby's own new conversion parts enabling the modeller to build the original kit in the D-5 variety. On top of that, we have to say that our parts also tackle a few of the trouble spots the Academy kit unfortunately possesses. This version actualy was the final one of all 'Stuka' bomber versions and was operated not just by the Luftwaffe but by other German allies too. So, the decal sheet and colour schemes included in the kit portray machines flown in Rumania, Hungary, Slovakia and Bulgaria. The Rumanian machine was adorned with lettering on either side of the fuselage while the Hungarian one carries a name.
- Unusual and attractive-looking version
- Eye-catching decals coming with a complete set of stencils
- Available in limited quantity only

Dassault-Mirage IIICJ The Mirage IIICJ became the symbol of the Israeli air superiority during the wars with the neighbouring Arab countries. The Mach Two, high performance, delta wing fighter aeroplanes were produced by French Dassault, but the Israeli CJ version differed from the airframes built for the French military by not being fitted with the rocket booster motor. The Israeli Mirages took part in the War over Water, Six Day War, Attrition War and the Yom Kippur War as well as several more minor clashes. In its air superiority role, the Mirage did very well indeed, and many of their pilots quickly became aces.
As many as seven styrene sprues plus one with clear parts in the kit are joined by a decal sheet with markings for four IAF machines with the earlier powerplant, the Atar 9B jet engine.

- Superbly detailed model
- Colourful and eye-catching schemes and decals
- And also a 'Black' Mirage completely covered in soot from the explosion of an Arab jet that it had just shot down.
- Pre-cut masks also available, resin detail sets being developed at the moment. Price:£15.82

McDonnell FH-1 Phantom "Demonstration Teams and Trainers" (new tooling)The first US Navy's jet aircraft to be operated from the aircraft carriers and the first jet of the U.S. Marines ever, such could be the description of the airframe produced by McDonnell under designation the FH-1 and which was commonly known as the Phantom, although the same name, just with a number II added, would be later given to another and much more popular jet to seemingly eclipse the historic significance of the original Phantom.
McDonnell company was established in 1939, and in 1940 it received its first contract for a production of subassemblies for other producers. In January 1943, McDonnell's design team was assigned a new job though. The U.S. Navy commissioned a jet fighter aircraft to be built which was to be known as the FD-1, later to be renamed to the FH-1 in 1947 (in U.S. Navy system, the letter D denoted the Douglas company)
The team, led by K.Perkins, put forward a concept of a straight wing monoplane of all-metal construction. The power plants were supplied by Westinghouse. Originally, before the whole concept of the aircraft became clear enough, as many as eight engines were considered per each machine. Eventualy, a more conventional design with two powerplants on either side of the fuselage was accepted. The machine was fitted with six machine guns in the nose section and the Phantom military nickname was chosen. The type's Model 19 powerplants proved to lack the necessary performance and were quite unreliable, too. However, the prototype XFD-1 machine begun its taxiing tests fitted with this type of powerplants, to be more precise it was fitteed with just one engine. On 26 January 1945, an accidental hop occured during taxiing which was considered the type's very first take off. The flight tests went on until 1 November 1945 when the plane crashed, killing its pilot, W.Burke. It was hard times for the company, indeed. The original order calling for 100 examples of the aircraft was cut down to just 30 airframes by the end of the war, however, eventually, as many as 60 airframes were requested. The flight tests went on with the second prototype, during these tests the very first landing and consequent take off from an aircraft carrier occured, making the Phantom the very first naval jet aircraft to achieve this milestone.
The production machines differed from the prototypes by having their tail fins squared off, the wind shield was simplified, fuel tanks enlarged and a provision for another tank carried under the belly was also made. The very first production airframes, the FH-1, went to VF-17 unit, making it the first jet aircraft unit of the US Navy. The unit was later re-equipped with the more modern Banshee type and renamed to VF-171. The second Navy unit to operate the Phantom was VF-172, while the first Marines unit to do so was VFM-122, which, led by ace pilot Marion E. Carl received their FH-1s during the Autumn of 1947. It was also this unit where the first FH-1 display, or aerobatics group was formed, named the Marine Phantoms. Another one was established at the Naval Air Test Center at Patuxent River, named the Gray Angels, but was also unofficially known as the Admirals' Group as its members were Rear Admirals D.Galler, E.A. Cruise and A.Soucek.
The FH-1 Phantom did not see very long first line service, it was transferred to Naval Air Reserve units at various Naval Air Stations throughout the whole US rather soon and by 1955, the Phantom had retired from active service. In 1964, two airframes and another one to supply spare parts were used to civil jet pilot training by Progressive Aero Inc. company.
The 1/72 Phantom jet was already in our production range back in the 1990s in the form of a short-run type model kit. Now, we have prepared for you a completely new, 3D-designed, cutting-edge model which, apart from the name Phantom, has absolutely nothing common with the previous one. There are three sprues of grey injected moulded styrene, one clear sprue and on top of it also a fret of etched details. The decal sheet was expertly printed by Italian Cartograf and caters for four machines, three of which are in the military standard of dark blue while the fourth option portrays a civilian machine in white overall with red trim. Make your choice from the following options:
no. 750 operated by the NATC and flown by Rear Admiral Apollo Soucek, member of the Gray Angels aerobatics and display team.
no. 108 assigned to Naval Air Station Grosse Ile, 1951, with the fuselage band in Orange. On the occasion of a public show, this airframe was carried an enlistment poster underneath its canopy, the poster is also in the decal sheet.
A-FH-1 of the Marine Phantoms display team of VMF-2, with yellow trim.
FH-1 Phantom, N2482A, as used for the pilot training in Teterboro School of Aviation. (discontinued February 2024). Price:£13.92

Yakovlev Yak-23 Flora Two-Seater To design a two-seater trainer/ combat version of the common fighter aircraft became almost a tradition in USSR. This tradition with roots in WW 2 was applied to Yakovlev Yak-23, too. Except of the combat version, the two-seater trainer version Yak-23UTI was also designed. It was to serve for transitional and gunnery training but also as fast courier aircraft. The kit contains one sprue with grey plastic parts, injected clear sprue, detailed resin and photo-etched parts Decals included offer markings for two machines; the first is overall in natural metal finish while the other sports grey-green camouflage.
IAR IAR-81C (ex Azur-Frrom) In the late 1930s, the Polish PZL P.11 and P.24 all-metal, high wing fighter planes were produced under licence by IAR, Industria Aeronautica Romana. Using the P.24's fuselage structure, a new fighter plane was created by a design team led by Ion Grosu and the plane was named the IAR -80. The new fighter had performance approaching that of contemporary foreign designs like the Hurricane, P-36, MS 406 and Bf-109D. Various changes to weapons led to the IAR-80A, B and C sub-versions, and also the IAR-81C which was designed for fighter-bomber role during spring of 1941, although it served in both air interceptor and ground attack roles. The IAR-81C was the most numerous sub-version to be produced (from no 300 to 450), deliveries starting early in 1943.Total production for IAR-80/81 series totalled around 450 units, but ceased (as well as the production of the Bf-109 type that only had just begun) after the American bombing of Brasov factory, on April 16th, 1944.

The Romania Air Force's fighter and ground attack units were equipped with the IAR80/81 type right from the beginning of the country's involvement in the Second World War and until the end of hostilities. The first fifty IAR-80 airframes were in service during the attack against the Soviet Union on June 22nd, 1941. The IARs of the 6th Group (61st and 62nd squadrons) and the 8th Group (41st and 60th Squadrons) were engaged Stalingrad front during the autumn of 1942. August 1st, 1943 saw IAR-80 & 81s defending the Ploiesti oil plants from attack by USAAF B-24 Liberators, during "Operation Tidal Wave", when the Rumanian fighters downed some of the heavy bombers. On June 1Oth, 1944, IAR-81Cs from 6th Fighter Group confronted P-38 Lightnings belonging to the USAAF 82nd and 1st FG (American pilots mistakenly reported having fought Fw-190s).

Romania joined the Allied powers in August 1944, and changed back the national insignia worn by its aircraft from crosses to traditional blue, yellow and red roundels. Being under Soviet command, the IAR-80/81 units saw combat over Hungary and later also during the liberation of Czechoslovakia over the areas of Moravia and Slovakia, where they enjoyed and suffered their final victories and losses. Remaining airframes of the 80/81 type kept on serving in Romania until the 1950s, some of them also being rebuilt in 1950 to advanced trainer version known as the IAR-81DC.
Beneath the kit box lid with eye-catching action picture a combat-engaged IAR aircraft, the modeller will find five sprues with inject-moulded styrene parts, some of them made using metal tooling moulds, a clear cockpit canopy and several other clear parts, nicely detailed resin parts and a set of PE parts. The decal sheet printed by Italian Cartograf in superb quality caters for four Romanian machines, three of them bearing war-time crosses and the last one in post-war scheme with Romanian roundels.
Curtiss-Hawk H-75M / H-75N / H-75O Hawk. It is an export version of the H-75 Hawk type featuring a fixed undercarriage and the model brings camouflage otpions of the air forces of Argentina, Siam and China.. Between the wars Curtiss fighter aircraft were the considered the best and so they were exported in large numbers. Curtiss continued in this manner even after model H-75 was introduced. Except the fact the USAAF chose H-75 as its standard fighter and used in under designation P-36A , H-75 was exported to almost whole World (except Australia and Antarctic). Except of the variants with retractable undercarriage Curtiss Company offered cheaper variant with fixed undercarriage and powered by R-1820 engine. Such variant was much cheaper and without the need of complex retractable undercarriage maintenance. Fixed undercarriage version included version M for China, N for Sian (now Thailand) and version O for Argentina. China purchased 112 machines and
deployed them against Japanese attackers. Siam purchased 25 machines equipped with Madsen cannons in underwing pylons. They were used in borderline conflict with French Indo-China. Except of the armament the Siamese Hawks differed in wheel spats shapes. Argentina received 30 machines of H-75O version and additional 200 machines were license produced. The kit contains seven sprues with plastic parts, injected clear sprue, detailed resin cannon barrels and photo-etched parts Decals included contain markings for all of the users. There's overall camouflaged Siamese Hawk, Chinese Hawk with upper wing surface over painted with green colour (the color peeled-off heavily) and natural metal finish Argentinean Hawk.
Fairey Firefly Mk.IV / Mk.V / Mk.VI. Fairey Firefly Mk.4/5/6 in Foreign Service. Fairey Firefly Mk.4/5/6 is the typical representative of British naval fighter concept. Even before World War 2 Royal Navy demanded two-seater long range aircraft for its use. The second crew member was a dead weight that declassified the performances of these aircraft. Firefly Mk.I (we produce a kit of this aircraft under cat. no. SH48127 and we are also preparing another box with Pacific markings under cat. no. SH48131) became the successor to the out powered Fairey Fulmar. Despite the handicap of its design it was able to outfight the enemy fighter aircraft. The development of new and more powerful versions had been started during the war. While Mk.III version was a disappointment both in performances and handling characteristics, Mk.IV version (later re- designated to Mk.4) was accepted for production. The first machines reached the combat units after the war, though. Main purpose of this version was day and nigh fighter role but it should have been also deployed as fighter bomber. Externally same subsequent version served for same purposes and thanks to its internal equipment it was capable of anti-submarine warfare. The need of the anti-submarine warfare led to the development of special version, designated AS.6 (Mk.6). Fireflies were widely used by Royal Navy but were also exported. They were used by aviation sections within Royal Canadian, Australian and Dutch navies. This is the topic of this kit. The kit contains four sprues with grey plastic parts, clear sprue and detailed resin parts Decals included offer markings for Royal Canadian Navy (RCN), Royal Australian Navy (RAN) and Royal Dutch Navy..
Dassault-Mirage F.1CG Finely detailed new tooling Mirage model comprises six runners, a clear parts runner and nicely cast detailed resin parts for weapon launchers specific only to Greek Mirage F.1s. The decals are printed by Cartograf and supply markings and full set of stencils allowing the modeller to build a silver-painted anniversary machine, two aircraft in standard Aegean Blue and Silver livery or a machine in "Fantasma" three-colour camouflage scheme. The Mirage F.1C came to being as a private venture of the French Dassault company. The French Air Force, or the Arme de l'Air, had ordered two prototype aircraft named Mirage F.2 and Mirage F.3 which were to be equipped with a JTF10 engine. However, Dassault built on their own expenses yet another prototype, smaller than the two previous and fitted with an Atar 9K power plant. This machine, which was eventually chosen, took off for its maiden flight on 23 December 1966 and production aircraft were put on strenght of the Arme de l'Air in single-seater fighter version known as the F.1C and two-seater F.1B trainer version. During their service, number of the machines were upgraded by fitting of IFR probes which gave the F-1C-200 version. The French Air Force used also a dedicated reconnaissance and a ground-attack version, designated the F.1CR and CT respectivelly, the latter being converted from F.1-200 machines. In total, 246 of all versions served with the French, the type was exported abroad and enjoyed success with foreign air forces. In Europe, the Greeks and the Spanish flew the Mirage F.1C, in South America there was only a sole operator, the Fuerza Aerea Ecuatoriana, but in Africa and Asia the Mirage F.1C an B were put on strenght of air forces of Gabon, South Africa, Morocco, Libya, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Qatar and Kuwait and were used in many clashes around the world, including no-shot combats of Greek pilots against their Turkish adversaries, as well as French military actions in Chad, Ecuadorian over-border skirmishes with Peru, battles of South African Mirages against Angola-based Cuban fighters and the list might end with mentioning the Iran-Iraq war in which the Mirages were used by either side. And even nowadays the type keeps on flying in several countries. (discontinued February 2024). Price:£13.92

Bell P-39Q/N Airacobra 'Soviet Guard Regiments' Due to its unorthodox design that featured engine located behind the pilot's cockpit, P-39 Airacobra was not U.S. pilots' dream fighter. Nevertheless, Soviet pilots really liked to fly Airacobras. From all the aircraft delivered to Soviet Union as part of Lend-Lease, P-39s accounted a large percentage. During the low level fights on Eastern Front Airacobras were highly dangerous to its opponents. Guard Regiments with many aces including the best ones as Pokry'kin or Glinka were preferably equipped with Airacobras. We haven't released the kit of the late versions N and Q, yet Decals included (three sheets!!!) in this kit offer marking for three machines flown by Soviet aces. These are P-39N 'Krasnoyarsky Komsomolets' flown by Colonel Sobolev that featured dedication on both sides of fuselage, P-39Q-5 'Yellow 93' flown by Captain Filatov that sported playing cards
paintings and victory markings and the last is P-39N 'White 01'. This machines was originally flown by Captain I.I. Babak. Dolnikov who decorated this machine with expressed revenge stencils for fallen friends (left on the fuselage 'For Vanya Babak', on right 'For Petya Tucek') (discontinued February 2024).
Bell AH-1Q/ S Cobra 'U.S. Army & Turkey'
The very first version of the venerable Cobra helicopter, the AH-1G was primarily intended for army direct support. However, the Army command soon realised that dedicated anti-tank helicopters were gravely needed and thus the Q and S versions of the Cobra choppers were developed and also some of the earlier G version machines were upgraded to this new standard, although still having some components typical for the AH-1Gs. All these new versions were usualy armed with TOW guided anti-tank missiles. The kit parts come in six grey styrene sprues and exhibit splendid detail throughout, fine recessed panel lines and riveting. The clear runner contains five-part "greenhouse" of the canopy which bring the modeller possibility to display the model with either closed or open cockpit and there are also other tiny clear parts which represent for example a searchlight or gun sight. The kit also contains a set of resin parts and all of the above bring you an opportunity to build true-to-scale replica of either Q or S version of AH-1 Cobra helicopter. The decal sheet caters for five machines, there are four U.S. Army machines, two of which in Q standard and the other two in S standard and the last one is highly attractive Turkish aircraft in three-tone camouflage. Polished and with shiny metallic surfaces and having plentiful colour markings distinguishing each unit contemporary photographs. This applies also to the P-35s. Thanks to many photographs in our archives we were able to prepare really varied selection of P-35s with markings of all three squadrons and also of he Headquarters Squadron of the USAAC 1st Pursuit Group. Kits parts are in two separate frames and although there is certain similarity with the P-35A / J-9 model, the moulds are in fact different.
Vickers/CASA type 245 Spanish Vildebeest floatplane. Vickers Vildebeest was RAF's land torpedo bomber version. Spain was interested in this machine since it would fit its Navy Air Force's needs. Spain required installation of Hispano-Suiza 12L in-line engine with 600 Hp (448 kW) power output. According to the Spanish specifications, Vickers designed new version designated Type 245. Two prototypes were built and trialed in Britain. Both were designed with exchangeable wheel or float undercarriage. Spain purchased both prototypes and license production for 25 machines to be produced in CASA Company in Getafa.
Re-released! Short Sunderland Mk.III	WWII This is a model of one of the most famous flying boats in the history of aviation. The Mk.III variety was built and saw service during the war times, being introduced to operational use in the turn of 1941-42. Compared with the earlier versions, it featured an improved hull step and was equipped with power-operated gun turrets. Because of its long range capabilities and heavy armament, the type proved a very dangerous opponent to Kriegsmarine's u-boats which was also able to defend itself against long range fighters of the Luftwaffe. These abilities are very well illustrated by the chosen airframes in the kit, two of which can boast with a sunk submarine and the crew of the other managed to defend themselves against eight attacking Ju 88s, shooting down three of them in the end.

Hawker Tempest Mk.V "Hi-Tech 2" Includes a partial resin replica of the Tempest power unit, the Napier Sabre engine which had been 3D designed and its master parts produced in a 3D printer to achieve the highest possible quality and accuracy. Besides the resin engine, the kit also comprises detailed resin parts for the cockpit and resin wheels, a set of photo-etched parts (seat belt buckles and other detailed parts both for the interior and exterior of the kits), HGW laser pre-cut seatbelts , spray masks for canopy, clear parts and wheels. Another addition not available with earlier Tempest Mk.V releases is an extra sprue offering under-wing rocket projectiles. So, all in all, the kit comes on nine grey styrene sprues and one clear sprue. The surface of all major parts is covered with very finely rendered rivet lines. A very nice feature of the kit is a detailed A4-size full-colour instruction booklet that will guide the modeller all through his build. The underwing weapons are meant for one of the kit's five camouflage schemes. The modeller will be able to choose between the following ones: Le Grand Charles, the machine of the highest-scoring French ace pilot Pierre Clostermann, Tempest EJ750/JBW, a personal mount of WgCdr J.B.Wray, Tempest EJ762/JJ-F of F/L D.C.Fairbanks DFC and Two Bars (12.5 kills), Tempest SN206/5R-B of Belgian pilot F/O G.A.Rens and silver-coloured post-war Tempest SN330/J5-H of S/L R.B.Cole, DFC and Bar which is the machine to be fitted with the underwing rocket projectiles. The decal sheet features also a full set of stencils, including those for the cockpit and the fuel tanks.
The Tempest is arguably one of the best fighter planes of the Second World War. During the conflict, the opposing sides were constantly competing against each other to keep abreast of the latest technological developments, and as a result it led to ever more powerful and effective warplanes. In 1941, the new German Fw-190 fighter began to enter service and in response the British hastily developed the new Spitfire versions along with introduction into service of a new type called the Hawker Typhoon Mk.I. The introduction of the Typhoon and its powerplant into service was not without certain trouble and as restrictions of the Typhoon design soon emerged, Sydney Camm, Hawker's chief designer, began to design a new fighter aircraft, partially based on the Typhoon. As the number of alterations to the original design was quite substantial, the new plane was to carry a new name, the Hawker Tempest and soon proved to be one of the best WWII fighter planes. And our Hawker Tempest kit brings you the very best quality we have achieved so far in the field of 1/32 scale aircraft model kits.. Price:£66.66
