German WWII Super Heavy Tank Maus V1
Super-heavy German tank developed during World War II. The Maus was massive, weighing around 188 metric tons. Its armour was exceptionally thick, providing significant protection from enemy fire. It was armed with a 128mm main gun and a coaxial 75mm gun, offering substantial firepower. Despite its powerful weaponry and armour, its mobility was limited due to its immense weight and the resultant challenges in manoeuvring.

An ambitious project but only prototypes built, designated V1 and V2. Prototype V1 was largely incomplete and lacked a turret during the war. V2 had further improvements and was closer to completion before the war's end. However, neither saw active service, and the project was cancelled in August 1944 due to the impracticality of deploying such heavy and resource-intensive tanks.

Following further testing V1 and V2 were abandoned and captured from the military training ground at Kummersdorf south of Berlin by Red Army forces in April 1945. A complete Maus was completed from parts from both V1 and V2, and the hybrid survives on display at the Kubinka Tank Museum near Moscow, Russia.
Workable wheels & tracks, choice of 3 markings, photo-etch parts. (Figures not included).. Price:£44.99
