Boeing C-17 Globemaster III. The C-17 Globemaster III is one of the most capable and flexible transport aircraft in USAF history, and is also flown by several allies. The C-17 took part in almost every major conflict that the US was a part of since its introduction to service in 1993, and most recently proved its worth once again over Iraq and Afghanistan. This comprehensive set was designed for the Revell kit, and features markings for 14 different aircraft including the initial prototype/test airframe T1, which was the only C-17 to have been painted in the European One camouflage scheme. Accurate stencilling and well-designed, easy-to-apply walkway decals are included to give your model a realistic, "busy" look. Using the spare digits provided in the set, it should be possible to build any C-17 tail number for the units covered in the set. One of the marking options we chose for the set is 01-0186, also known as "Reach 871" - its call sign during the evacuation of Kabul. On August 15, 2021; "Reach 871" safely evacuated more than 800 people from Afghanistan. Boeing B-52 "Tall Tail Stratofortresses" Step back into the annals of aviation history with Caracal's latest 1/144 scale decal sheet for the iconic B-52A/F "Tall Tail" Stratofortresses. This meticulously researched set celebrates some of the most significant and storied aircraft from the fleet, including the NB-52E CCV, renowned Vietnam War bombers like "Diamond Lil," and even the B-52F piloted by Hollywood legend (and USAF Brigadier General) Jimmy Stewart during his famous mission over Vietnam. North-American B-45 Tornado. 264-pages (13-pages of color). 90,000 words, over 450 images. Author Geof Hays. This 264-page book about the North-American B-45 is generously illustrated with 267 drawings, 355 photos, of which 15 are color aircraft images, and color drawings of 33 insignia of units which flew the Tornado. The book is presented in 12 chapters detailing B-45A, B-45C and RB-45C design, production, performance, payload, endurance and operations as it served as a bomber, reconnaissance and flight test aircraft. The author delves into the technological difficulties, lack of operational assignments, and politics which plagued the first third of the Tornado's career, from 1947 through 1950. He then presents the Tornado's more demanding and highly successful career from 1952 through 1958, which saw this turbojet develop into a fully combat capable aircraft using an entirely new field of weapons and carrying out a new and essential element of reconnaissance. The author includes the tail numbers of RB-45Cs assigned to Yokota AB, Japan who flew combat missions during the Korean war, and highly classified covert missions following the Korean War. Configurations, colors and marking of aircraft assigned to units at Yokota AB, Japan are provided as well. Mission details, tail numbers, and markings for aircraft supporting NATO from the UK, such as RB-45Cs which flew Peripheral Aerial Reconnaissance Program missions or PARPRO in Europe. For the first time, serial numbers of all armed RB-45s in the Far East Air Forces and US Air Forces in Europe are covered. And critically important sorties flown by allied personnel over denied territory deep into eastern Europe and the Soviet Union in 1952 and 1954 are also covered in detail. A separate detailed table presents a list and facts of all known accidents. Scale models of the B-45 Tornado from 1956 to the present day are presented with pictures of the boxes and a review of each kit. Geoffrey Hays is a retired USAF officer, Museum professional and the respected author of Ginter Books' sell out title, Air Force Legends No. 215, the Boeing B-50. As with the B-50 book, he once again presents here a detailed, accurate and highly readable history of the USAF's first multiengine turbojet bomber and reconnaissance aircraft, the North-American B-45 Tornado.

Convair (Consolidated Vultee) B-36 'Peacemaker' Conceived when the Americans thought that the stuttering British candle would be snuffed out by Germany, the Consolidated Vultee, Convair, B-36 was intended to take the air war to Europe from the Continental USA. Fortunately Britain hung on and caused the cancellation of the invasion due to the stalwart efforts of the RAF during the Battle of Britain. As global war developed the B-36 programme was put on the back burner as other needs were more pressing. Eventually the B-36 would resume this time as a high altitude long range nuclear delivery platform. Numerous versions entered service with USAF covering both the bombing and reconnaissance versions, both undertaking overseas deployments in support of their intended missions. Continued production of the B-36 caused a great rift with the U.S. Navy whose first super carrier was cancelled to pay for more B-36's that the Admirals regarded as redundant. It would be the emergence of the reliable turbojet engine that would spell the end of the B-36 as a front line aircraft as both the Boeing B-47 and B-52 bombers would quickly see the types demise. Outside the needs of Strategic Air Command there were other uses for the B-36 airframe, one would be used to transport a B-58 Hustler fuselage/ wing assembly for structural testing, another would become the NB-36 and carried a working nuclear reactor aboard whilst the final throw of the dice saw the type developed into the YB-60 eight engined bomber in competition with the B-52. The basic design threw up one more off shoot, the XC-99 transport that saw a new fuselage married to the original wings and fittings plus the original tail feathers, as a unique one off the XC-99 survives in preservation. This book is written by Kev Darling and is superbly illustrated by Richard J.Caruana.
