Model A Standard Phaeton (1930s), American Passenger Car The first Ford Model A was manufactured on October 20, 1927, and its mass production and sales began two months later, in December. The car replaced the well-known Ford Model T, which had been produced for 18 years. The Model A was equipped with a 4-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with a displacement of 3.28 liters and a power output of 40 horsepower.
