Description:
WWII US Army Kitchen Truck with new parts To provide food for the American army, so-called "Kitchen Trucks" were used. They were used to transport kitchen equipment and some supplies and for the preparation of hot meals during unit marches. These trucks had extended arches for canvas covers on the body, so that cooks could stand upright while working. Wooden bench seats for personnel, which were located inside the body of army trucks, could be placed on the outside of the "Kitchen Trucks" for placing pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment. The equipment of such kitchens varied, but one of the essential components was the M-1937 field stove, which operated on liquid fuel.
