MDFSD8 Scaled Down #8 Dassault_Mirage 2000B/C/D/N The delta wing Dassault_Mirage 2000 is a French multirole, single-engine fourth-generation aircraft, designed in the late 1970s as a lightweight fighter based on the iconic Mirage III for the French Air Force (Armee de l'Air). Since then the Mirage 2000 evolved into a true multirole platform with several variants developed and has been sold to a number of nations. The variants include the Mirage 2000C fighter and Mirage 2000D and Mirage 2000N strike variants, and the improved Mirage 2000-5, and the proposed 2000-9. Over 600 aircraft were built, and it has been in service with nine nations. The Mirage 2000 has proven a capable performer under extreme combat conditions and has seen action across Europe, the Middle East and in North Africa as a part of the NATO contingent enforcing the 'No-Fly Zone' over Libya. Despite the aircraft currently being replaced by the much more advanced Dassault Rafale, the Dassault_Mirage 2000 still plays a role in operations of the French Air Force today - and with other air forces around the world. Mirage 2000 fighters in currently operation with the French Air Force are the Mirage 2000C/B single seater the Mirage 2000N and the upgraded Mirage 2000NK3, designed for all weather nuclear penetration at low altitude and very high speed. Also in service is the Mirage 2000D, an upgraded version of the Mirage 2000N, for automated bombing using conventional and laser guided munitions, and the Mirage 2000-5, incorporating advanced avionics, new sensors and control systems. The Mirage 2000 has nine hardpoints for carrying weapon system payloads - five on the fuselage and two on each wing, and these include the BGL 1000 laser-guided bomb, AS30L, Armat anti-radar missile, AM39 Exocet anti-ship missile, Apache standoff weapon, and the stealthy cruise missile, the Storm Shadow/SCALP. The aforementioned French Mirage 2000NK3 aircraft can also carry the ASMPA medium-range air-to-ground missile. ASMPA has a tactical nuclear warhead and replaced the ASMP missile. The single-seat version is also armed with two internally mounted, high-firing-rate 30mm guns. Air-to-air weapons include MICA air-to-air missiles, and the Magic 2 missiles, the MBDA Super 530D missile or the Sky Flash. The Mirage 2000 gained export success with sales to Greece, Brazil, Qatar, Peru, Taiwan, India, the UAE and Egypt. Brazil retired its Mirage 2000s in 2013, however, the type remains in service around the world with many being upgraded to new standards. Dassault_Mirage 2000-5F né°43 2-EJ "Vieux Charles" EC 1/2 Cigognes 2017. During summer 2017, was commemorated the centenary of the disappearance of Georges Guynemer one of the most famous aces of the French aviation; aged of 22 years, he died in action on September 11, 1917 aboard his plane Spad XIII over Belgian Flanders. Flown in squadron number 3, now SPA3, known as "Escadrille des Cigognes" or "Stork Squadron" it has no less than 53 confirmed and 35 probable victories. In 2017, the SPA3 is the first squadron of the EC 1/2 wing "Cigognes", flying with Mirage 2000-5F and based on the Luxeuil Saint-Sauveur BA116. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the death of Captain Georges Guynemer, the Mirage 2000-5F # 43 2-EJ received the colors of the Spads from Squadron No. 3 Storks, with the name of "Vieux Charles" that Guynemer gave to all his planes since his first victory on July 19, 1915 aboard Morane-Saulnier type L "Vieux Charles" , the first of the name.

Dassault_Mirage IIIR #317 "ER 1/33 Belfort" 1986 Based on the airbase BA124 of Strasbourg in 1986, the reconnaissance squadron ER 1/33 "Belfort" had only one badge ; the SAL33 called "La Hache" (the ax) or "Hache by A. Bordage" (by Alfred Bordage) dating from 1914. However, in homage to the famous Commandant (Major) Antoine de Saint-Exupery, pilot in the squadron history, his "Little Prince" was unofficially picked up, holding an ax in his hand rather than a sword. So it's for the festival of the Ax (May 23), - the 72nd anniversary of SAL33 "Hache" (1914), - the 41st anniversary of Belfort squadron (1945) - and the conversion to Mirage F-1CR (1986), that the Mirage IIIR né°317 was entirely painted white, flanked by an Ax on the tail, the coat of arms of Belfort and Strasbourg on the wings, and the "Little Prince" holding the ax on belly. It was not until 1993 that the traditions of the "Little Prince' (EALA 9/72), and the "Leopard" (BR244) were officially assigned as 2nd and 3rd badges of the ER 1/33 "Belfort" when flown on Mirage F-1CR.

Dassault_Mirage IIIE 13-QG "25 years Mirage IIIE" EC1-13 Artois 1990. WAS £9.99. TEMPORARILY SAVE 1/3RD!!! In 1990, the Mirage IIIE has been in service with the French Air Force for 25 years, no less than nine squadrons have used it or are still using it to this date, this is the case of the EC1/13 "Artois" based on the BA132 from Colmar-Meyenheim. For the occasion, the Mirage IIIE né°426 13-HQ is painted entirely blue, bearing the colors of Artois and the insignias of the squadrons that have flown, or still flies on Mirage IIIE. The last Mirage IIIE will be retired of service in the French Air Force by the EC3/3 "Ardennes" in Nancy in 1995.

Dassault_Mirage F1 by Andy Evans 60 pages During the 1960s, Dassault commenced development of what would be-come the Mirage F1 as a private venture, alongside the larger Mirage F2. Work on the F1 eventually took precedence over the more costly F2, which was cancelled during the late 1960s. The Armee de l'Air took great interest in the fledgling F1 to meet its requirement for an all-weather interceptor aircraft. The Mirage F1 was of similar size to the Mirage III and Mirage 5 and was powered by the same SNECMA Atar engine that had been used on the larger Dassault_Mirage IV, however, unlike its predecessors, it had the layout of a swept wing, but mounted high on the fuselage, and a conventional tail sur-face as used by the F2. Although it had a smaller wingspan than the Mirage III, the Mirage F1 nevertheless proved to be superior to its predecessor, carrying more fuel while possessing a shorter take-off run and greater manoeuvrability. This latest addition to the Warpaint series includes all the usual reference and historical material that has made the series the go-to source for modellers and aviation enthusiasts alike. This book is written by Andy Evans and is superbly illustrated by Sam Pearson.
