Boeing RC-135V/W USAF Rivet Joint
Primary airborne signals intelligence aircraft WAS £44.99. TEMPORARILY SAVE 1/3RD!! developed from the Boeing C-135 transport in the 1960s. The main tasks of the RC-135V and RC-135W are to identify sources of radio signals in the area of potential combat operations, collect information on land, sea and air targets, intercept radio communication between command posts and combat units, and monitor enemy air defences. Depending on deployment the aircraft crew can include 12 to 16 surveillance operators and analysts for the purpose of operational data collection. Usually the RC-135V and RC-135W perform airborne command tasks together with other reconnaissance aircraft such as the E-3 AWACS, transmitting the gathered intelligence through a special encrypted communication channel. The RC-135V and RC-135W have been in service with the US Air Force for over 40 years and are the main type used for these operations. Three RC-135W Airseekers are in service with the Royal Air Force, converted from KC-135R Stratotankers between 2013 and 2017.
Markings included for USAF RC-135V c/n 18785 AF64-845. The box art is the last work painted for Roden by their talented artist Valery Grigorenko 1963-2022.

Here are some books and decals you might find useful for this kit
Re-printed! Boeing C-135 Family General Purpose Markings. This decal sheet provides a comprehensive selection of general-purpose markings to allow you to build and improve your 1/144 scale Minicraft C-135 series kits. While the sheet does not provide complete markings for any one particular aircraft, the wide variety of markings on this sheet will help you replace the inaccurate and generally poorly printed kit decals, and build new variants that can not be built with kit decals.
The markings on the sheet include:
Windshield markings to correct the inaccurate windshield profile of the Minicraft C-135 kits (both in black and silver)
National insignia, both in earlier full-color and current low-visibility versions
Maintenance stencilling and door outlines in both early and current style
Refueling door markings for IFR-capable C-135 variants
Strategic Air Command (SAC) "sashes", WEATHER/MATS/MAC/AFMC tail bands
Various unit and command badges commonly seen on USAF C-135 series aircraft since the 1960s
A small set of number digits for earlier C-135 variant tail numbers
We recommend the Minicraft 1/144 scale kits for various C-135 series aircraft. This set was professionally screen printed by Cartograf in Italy. [KC-135E][Boeing RC-135V/W]
